Escape from the beautiful yet deadly realm of the Fairy King
Develop your character by upgrading its gear, mounts, girlfriends, pets and more

Based on the popular anime, Sword Art Online, SAO’s Legend is a brand new browser-based MMORPG that offers the classic gameplay of a web-based MMORPG and yet added something interesting of its own.
In this game, you have somehow offended the Fairy King and he has trapped you in his beautiful yet deadly realm… in something that was dubbed as the “Game of Death”. You need to do your best to survive the masses of creatures that are more than eager to be the one to deliver you dead or alive to the Fairy King. Will you be able to defeat the Fairy King and escape from the “fairytale hell” you’ve found yourself in?
Well, to answer that question, you’ll first need to set up your very own character. There are 4 archetype classes that you can pick from – swordsman, ranger, priest and knight. Like most browser MMOs, you don’t get to customize your character and that their genders are fixed. However, you can “customize” them to some extend by choosing the mount, wings, NPC girlfriend, skills and Navigation Pixie (a.k.a. “pet”) to use. All of these aspects can also be upgraded to further increase their effectiveness and their contribution to your character’s overall Battle Rating.
Battle Rating (BR) is a crucial part of the game as it’s a pretty accurate indicator of how strong your character is. For instance, trying to take on another player with twice your BR value borders on suicide. Although there are some exceptions, they are very far and few in between.
That being said, aside from upgrading your mount, pet, NPC girlfriend, skills, and wings, you can also give your BR a boost by “polishing” your gear items. You can even add Gemstones Essences to your gear to activate the currently inert gems embedded within them. Each gear item has 3 gems that you can activate and when the gems are active, you’ll be given a pretty substantial BR boost. So, be sure to upgrade your character and its equipments whenever you can.
Once you reach higher levels, you’ll gain access to a plethora of other BR-boosting features such as the romance system where you can hook up with another player of the opposite gender. The intimacy points that you and your partner can gather can contribute greatly to your Battle Rating as well.
On another topic, SAO’s Legend plays just like any other browser-based MMORPG. Quite a lot of the gameplay are automated as evident via the game’s auto-pathing and auto-combat systems, but you can still choose to go “old school” and play the game manually if you like. There are also plenty of PvE events that you can sign up for, including a variety of instances, encounters and even team instances (4 players in a team). If you like some PvP action, you can even head over to the arena to duke it out with a fellow opponent.
Don’t forget to join any 1 of the 3 guilds provided in the game as well! Be it Laughing Coffin, Knight of the Blood or Sleeping Knights, as long as you’re in one, you’ll be able to gain access to a myriad of guild-only features and events, including the guild shop. However, before you can buy anything at the shop though, you’ll first need to get some points by contributing to the guild... whether it is a financial or material contribution. Participating in guild events is an added bonus too.
Want to get a leg up? Well, SAO’s Legend offers a tiered VIP system that you can get into by simply buying premium gems, but if you want to go a step further, you can buy a monthly pass. Naturally, players with the pass will be afforded more privileges.
All in all, SAO’s Legend is a pretty fun MMORPG that you can play on your browser. It may not have the epic-ness of the original Sword Art Online, it’s a pretty good substitute, especially for players who don’t have a lot of time to invest in an MMO game.
