Blades of Excalibur is a 2D side-scrolling Facebook based MMORPG that comes with really good fast paced action oriented combat and a large amount of quests to complete. All these things combined with a really good looking world with lots to explore, Blades of Excalibur is a game that will surely provide a good experience to anyone who gives it a go.
On your first time playing Blades of Excalibur, you’ll be met with a class selection screen where you can choose from one of the three classes of Warrior, Wizard or Brawler. Warriors and Brawlers are melee fighters that double up as tanks where as the Wizard is the ranged DPS class that is inept at close range combat.
You’ll select the name for your character after a few minutes in the game but the one rather disappointing thing about characters in Blades of Excalibur is that there aren’t any real customization options for you to play with so there’s a solid chance that your character will look a lot like the other ones running around the world but luckily this becomes less and less of an issue as you level up and find some unique looking gear to equip.
Your first few minutes of playing Blades of Excalibur will consist of well designed in-depth tutorial quests that have dialogue boxes teaching you the controls of the game, the combat of the game and how you can perform the special moves of your character. Of course each of these quests are heavily rewarding as they provide some really good equipment for your character that grants a huge boost to your stats and allows you to combat some difficult enemies.
As for the gameplay of Blades of Excalibur, movement is standard point and click or you could also use keyboard keys to move around. The real shining star of the gameplay is the combat. The combat is really fast paced so you’ll always have to remain focused to avoid dying. Each different class has a unique skill-set of its own filled with abilities that you can chain together to put down an obscene amount of damage on your enemies. The longer your chain of combos, the more experience you get from killing monsters.
The graphics of Blades of Excalibur are really good considering the fact that it is only a browser based MMORPG. All skill and ability animations look really good and are extremely fluid. The game world is also beautiful as there are a lot of places for you to explore and it is also constantly being updated with new places to explore and new skills to use.
There’s also a cash shop in Blades of Excalibur where you can purchase some ‘premium’ gear for your character and also some potions that boost your combat stats or the amount of experience you gain. Fortunately for non-paying players, they can purchase these items for players for a reasonable amount of gold so everyone can get their hands on these things eventually.
