Explorer Age of Universe
Command a team of mechas and combat the evil forces of the Death Axis to victory.
Grow your team by rescuing other mechas from the Death Axis and into your alliance.
Fight battles to level up, find rare items and become stronger than you were before.
Explorer: Age of Universe is an MMORPG that takes places in the deep space of the universe. In this game, the humans, called Terrans, have been forced to evacuate to a different planet after the resources of their home planet ran out. They eventually became embroiled in a war of occupancy against the Orta but, soon, threatened by the zerg monsters and the Death Axis, they are forced into forming a loose alliance.
You play the role of an Alliance Commander who is sent out by your leader, Commander Wayne, to scout ahead and capture any enemy from the Death Axis. Your first three missions will lead to the joining of two other mechas, one from the Terrans and another from the Orta, to your team. With this new team in place, you can then go on missions against the Zergs and the Death Axis.
As an MMORPG, Explorer: Age of Universe relies greatly on quests in order to move the narrative forward. There is a sort of auto-pathfinding in this game, as you are guided by a Quest menu on the upper right portion of the screen. As you may have already been used to in other similar games, clicking on each of the Quest will automatically steer your character to the non-playable character (NPC) that will trigger the event.
Each quest involves entering into a battle, from which you will gain a certain amount of gold, the in-game currency, and experience points. Once you accumulate a specific amount of experience points from multiple battles as well as accomplishing quests, the members of your team all level up and become stronger.
Quests and battles can also lead to the acquisition of new items and equipment. Once you have picked up a new battle gear, you are prompted to equip it. Once the item is equipped, your stats as well as your battle rating also increase; higher stats mean better prowess in battle and being able to defeat more powerful enemies.
The game’s battles are turn-based, automatic combat sequences. You and your opponents take turns in attacking each other until one is defeated. Once all of the enemies have been defeated, the battle ends and you gain the requisite gold and experience from the event.
The game features highly detailed graphics, from the mechas to the pre-rendered background art. The animation in the battle sequences are smooth and seamless, not stiff and lanky, which is good especially since tall robots are involved in the fighting sequences. The game’s soundtrack is impressive as well.
If you’re a fan of robot-versus-robot combat and the promise of a good sci-fi story, then Explorer: Age of Universe is definitely the ideal game for you. The game can be played free of charge simply by logging in to your Facebook account. It takes but a few minutes to set up an account at the game’s server, and you’re all set.
