What can you expect from the game? First off, the game is designed with the Unity engine in mind so you can expect smooth and excellent graphics minus the strain on your Internet connection. Even at high definition settings, the game loads smoothly and plays like a breeze. The point is, you can enjoy playing and taking in the sights without having to worry about technicalities and specifications.
Warmerise is a futuristic first person shooter, so you can expect ultra-modern facilities and locations to play in. There are two teams vying for supremacy in the game’s world – the Red and the Blue teams.
The Blue teams are reminiscent of cybernetic soldiers, with bright colors associated with them so you can easily spot your teammates on the battlefield. On the other hand, the Red teams are known for the darker hues their uniforms take on in the game.
There are various modes that you can choose from when creating a game. One of the most popular ones, however, is the TDM or team deathmatch. You choose from the Red and Blue team, and then you are right away sent into the game to duke it out with your opponents.
You’re given three weapons to use during combat. You have your primary weapon, which can either be a shotgun, a mini-gun, a futuristic blaster or an assault rifle. The secondary weapon, of course, is a pistol. The third weapon is a projectile, like a frag grenade, but it can also be a land mine. Curiously enough, the weapons featured here are contemporary firearms although a few fictional weapons are thrown in to the mix.
If you come across a weapon in-game, you can pick it up by pressing F. However, if you die, you revert back to the default weapon that you’ve set for yourself in the Armory menu.
Unlike most FPS games, this one doesn’t force you to wait until a round is over before you’re respawned. You only need to wait 5 seconds because you’re once again thrust into the battle that you’ve previously left.
The pacing of the battles are equally fast paced as well; if your opponents are good enough, you could see yourself dying within just a few moments especially when you’re up against snipers.
Controls here are typical of FPS games. A,S,W and D are used to steer your character around. Space is for jumping, while the Left and Right mouse buttons are used for firing and iron sights, respectively. You can also crouch by pressing on the C button.
