Did you enjoy the anime Fairy Tail? If so, then you’ll certainly love this game that you can easily access through Facebook. The title is Fairy Tail - A Hero’s Journey.
The game claims to be the only licensed game based on the popular cartoon series from Japan. Indeed, it faithfully recreates the story but this time, putting you, the player, at the head of the team. Familiar faces and names like Natsu, Gray, and many others make their presence in full force in the game.
So, let’s see what in store for you when you play the game. Oh, by the way, it’s totally free. No need to make a prior purchase of in-game currencies or other feature in order to gain access.
Your first task is to choose your hero. There are only three classes to choose from, with two genders each class. Sadly, you cannot customize the appearance of your character. Whatever you choose, that’s the one you’ll be using for the entirety of your experience in the game. It could get confusing especially when you encounter other players whose avatars are the same as yours, but you always have your name on top of your character’s head anyway to guide you.
Much of the game’s content is centered on quests. A non-playable character (NPC) will give you missions to complete, usually battling in the Arena, and you get something in return. Each quest also includes a short conversation between the characters just to establish what’s going on in the timeline. You have the option to skip this.
The battles themselves are the center piece of your experience. You don’t even have to do anything but watch the game unfold. Now, before each battle, you can assign heroes to your formation, i.e who goes in front, and who goes behind. This will affect the outcome of your battle, so make sure you put in a character with high Hit Points (HP) at the front to absorb all the enemy’s attacks while the rear lines slowly decimate the enemy formation.
To build a team, you have to recruit a character. Now, when you recruit a new character, he or she will start at Level 1. You’ll have to buff them using EXP tokens: these tokens allow new characters to catch up to everyone’s stats so you don’t have to grind just to get them to the level of everyone else.
You can also raise Pets, which participate in battle and provide you with additional attacking power.
After each battle, you can collect your loot. You can get Arcane Dust, which you can use to upgrade your main character’s skills. Other loot include silver, which can be used to upgrade everyone’s equipment and improve their stats. You also get rare items like EXP Tokens, and many others. Of course, you also gain experience points for yourself and your team.
The story itself is easy to follow, for both avid fans of the franchise and to those who are new to the anime.
