What MOBAs Can Learn from Other Competitive Games

इस लेख का मूल्यांकन करे MOBAs are often regarded as the pinnacle of competitive gaming but they still lack a few things and, in this article, we’ll be talking about the aspects on which MOBAs can improve. एम एम ओ चोराहा - What MOBAs Can Learn from Other Competitive Games

Due to the way MOBA games are played, they tend to be extremely competitive. Even MOBAs that are designed specifically for casual purposes can end up becoming quite intense and this is something that’s actually been a huge blessing for this genre because it’s allowed its games to grow into massive eSports. However, in spite of the rampant success of these games, there are certain things that other competitive things do better than MOBAs.

Below are all the things that MOBAs could learn from other competitive games.

1: Giving players the ability to carry on their own

One of the biggest complaints that players have about MOBA games is the fact that, if you get stuck on a team with bad players, you’re pretty much guaranteed to lose the game no matter how well you perform and this is actually quite true. MOBAs rely heavily on teamwork so, unless you have a team of competent members surrounding you, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to come out on top unless your opponents make massive makes. This isn’t the case with a lot of other competitive games such as shooters though because you can actually entire matches in them if you give a top notch performances. If MOBAs were to give players the ability to carry entire games on their backs from time to time then they’d certainly become more enjoyable.

2: Proper in-game balance

If you’ve played any properly balanced shooter game then you know for a fact that every single weapon in that game has a scenario where it’s the best choice thereby making sure that all the weapons are used by the players. However, the same cannot be said for a lot of MOBA games because these games usually come with a lot of characters that players simply refuse to try out because they’re weaker as compared to the others and this is mainly because of lackluster balance. Of course the developers should definitely be given some leniency here as MOBA games are significantly harder to balance due to a variety of different reasons but, all things considered MOBAs would certainly be a lot more enjoyable, and competitive, if they were properly balanced and all the characters were relevant in one way or another.

3: Strategic Diversity

As it stands right now, a lot of MOBA games have evolved to a point where a singular strategy and play-style has become the most efficient way of playing the game. While this definitely leads to some pretty intense games that rarely have any mistakes, it also means that things tend to become stale after a while since players repeat the same strategies over and over again. Adding more strategic diversity for players to experiment with would definitely benefit the competitive aspect of these games by a tremendous amount.

All said and done, the aforementioned things are those that’d certainly benefit MOBA games quite a bit if they were ever looked into.
