2016 has been great for MMO games because the genre saw many amazing free to play releases over the year. In this article we’ll be picking out the games that we feel are some of the best F2P releases of 2016.

A lot of things went into consideration when deciding what games should go on this list. We took a look at each game's graphics, their uniqueness, their gameplay, their multiplayer aspects and a variety of other things when taking into consideration whether or not they should get a spot on this list. After a lot of thought, we finally manage to land on 5 particular games that stood out from the crowd.

Paladins: Champions of the Realm

What makes Paladins: Champions of the Realm so intriguing is the fact that it manages to blend together the gameplay elements of both MOBA and FPS games. The end result is an immersive and exhilarating team based shooting experience that you won’t be able to let go of. There are lots of incredible characters to choose from, tons of achievements to collect and a whole bunch of amazing maps to enjoy as well.

League of Angels 2

League of Angels 2 is the sequel to the hugely popular League of Angels and, much like its predecessor, the game manages to innovate in a variety of different ways. It’s pretty much one of the best browser based MMORPGs that you can play right now because it’s filled to the brim with a variety of excellent features such as a top tier questing system, engaging combat, a very deep and rich lore and spectacular visuals to round everything off.

Paragon

Paragon is worth playing because it feels like a breath of air. Instead of giving players the traditional top down view that MOBAs are known for, the game allows players to view and control their characters from a third person perspective and this opens up a lot of interesting gameplay opportunities. On top of this, Paragon also has some very creatively designed heroes to choose from as well as a breathtaking map that’s loaded with detail.

Atlas Reactor

Atlas Reactor is a very unique PvP game in which players get to choose from a massive rosters of freelancers and then head into engaging 4v4 battles that only the most skilled and strategic players can come out on top of. The game has a very intriguing futuristic setting, lots of maps to enjoy, a rewards system to keep players coming back for more and a variety of other great features.

Shadowverse

Shadowverse is a very enjoyable CCG that isn’t necessarily anything out of the ordinary but still more than worth playing because of how well designed it is. The battles in this game are highly strategic, there are multitudes of cards to collect, tons of ways to create decks, seven different character classes to choose from and even a full-fledged story mode to enjoy.

All said and done, the aforementioned MMOs are those that we feel are some of the best that 2016 has had to offer and, needless to say, we recommend trying them out.
