A Guide to Pokémon Go's Latest Update

Оценить эту Статью Pokémon Go received a huge update as of recently and this update has brought a ton of new content to the game. In this article, we’ll be telling you all you need to know about this update so you can hit the ground running when you fire up the game. MMO Square - A Guide to Pokémon Go's Latest Update

Without any further ado, let's get into the thick of things.

1: New Pokémon

First and foremost, the update adds what people have been demanding for a while now and that’s the addition of second generation Pokémon. This update brings 80 different Pokémon from the Johto region into the game so, if you’ve already collected all the previous ones or are looking for a bit more variety, you’ll love what the update has to offer. Most of the new Pokémon function similarly to the old ones, although, it’s worth mentioning that some of them have unique characteristics that you’ll need to keep in mind. It’s also worth mentioning that the update brings a few new region exclusive Pokémon into the mix so, if you truly want to catch them all, you’ll need to do a bit of travelling.

2: New Ways to Evolve

If you’re tired of using the same candy based evolution system that all the initial Pokémon of Pokémon Go had then you’ll definitely like this update because it brings evolution stones into play. There are some Pokémon in the game that you simply cannot evolve without using these special stones like Seadra, Gloom, Polywhirl and a bunch of others and, overall, it’s a nice feature because it adds actual depth to the evolution system.

3: Balance Changes

If battling in gyms was your favorite thing about Pokémon Go then this update has you covered as well. The update brings a whole bunch of new balance changes to the moves of most Pokémon and, all things considered, most of them are positive changes because a lot of Pokémon are now viable. Previously, there was only a select handful of Pokémon that could efficiently take down gyms but, thanks to the balance changes, there’s now a much larger roster of Pokémon that you can choose to take into battle. Thanks to all this, you won’t see the same three or four Pokémon defending all the gyms.

4: Berries

Berries have always been an integral part of Pokémon Go and this new update brings new berries into the game as well. Alongside the Razz Berry that’s been in the game since the beginning, there are two new berries which have also been a part of many Pokémon games before. First is the Nanab Berry that slows wild Pokémon down and makes it easier to throw balls at them and second is Pinap Berry that’ll double the amount of candy you receive for each catch.

5: Technical Improvements

These will probably fly under the radar but the technical improvements that this update brings to the game are nothing to overlook. After this game, users have reported that the game consumes much less battery and eats a lot less RAM which is big news for players who play the game on older phones that don’t have top tier hardware.

All said and done, Pokémon Go’s latest update has brought a ton of good with it and, due to this, we highly recommend playing the game so you can see these new features firsthand.
