Forming a party with other fellow adventurers in any MMORPG can be very beneficial for a variety of different reasons. In this article we’ll be discussing these reasons in detail and explaining why you should always try to get into a party if you’re thinking of going out and slaying some beasts.

First off let’s discuss what a ‘party’ is in MMORPGs. A party is basically a group of players that have banded together due to mutual interests and goals. This group fights together through thick and then for as long as the party lasts. The usual size of a party is of around 4-6 people but some of the larger scale RPGs allow players to form even larger ones in order to hunt big game. An optimal party usually consists of a few high DPS characters, a tank or two, and of course a dedicated healer for when things seem grim.

The key reason you should try to form parties instead of going solo is the fact that you’ll be making things much easier and convenient for yourself and will die a lot less as well. When you’re in a party you always have players watching your back and making sure that every single monster that comes within sight is dropped immediately. However, if you were grinding solo then you’d probably become overwhelmed by the mobs very quickly which would either cause you to die or flee without ever reaching your actual objective.

Another thing that’s made partying so important is that the net experience gain increases tremendously when you’re in one. Most MMORPGs have various experience boosting formulas in place for when people decide to party up and go off slaying beasts together. For example, if you’re slaying a monster solo then you’ll get 100% of the experience from it. However, if you’re in a party of two then that monster will instead give out 120% of its total experience which will then be divided equally amongst both players. So as the members of a party increase, the net experience gain increases tremendously as well which allows players to level up much quicker than they normally would.

One of the best things about being in a party is that you’ll often end up with adventurous groups who like exploration and challenges. While you’d normally go to a map that’s according to your level when you want to slay some monsters, you’ll find yourself wandering off to higher level maps quite often when you’re in a large party. While the mobs of these maps might be much harder to slay, you might just end up getting your hands on some rare equipment off of them and alongside this, the feeling of satisfaction that you get upon killing a monster that’s much higher level than you is unmatched.

Being someone who frequently accepts party invitations will get you a lot of friends as well. Having a large amount of friends is actually extremely helpful in MMORPGs since you can call them for help in dire situations like when you need your potions delivered but can’t leave the map. If your group is large enough then you can even form your very own clan which would then allow you to participate in wars and such.

All said and done, there are countless reasons and benefits to joining parties in MMORPGs so we definitely recommend that you do so whenever the opportunity comes up.
